Heritage + Historic Antrim

The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch is delighted to announce that this year’s Antrim & Newtownabbey Pipe Band + Drum Major Championships — proudly supported by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council — will take place in the storied and atmospheric surroundings of Antrim Castle Gardens on Saturday 18 July 2026.

Set against centuries of heritage beside Clotworthy House, and the unmistakable charm of Antrim’s old town, this year’s Championships like previous years promise a day where tradition meets place — where the sound of pipes and drums rises through a landscape shaped by history, community, and culture.

Historic Antrim has long been a crossroads of people and stories, and it provides a fitting stage for one of most popular events in the local competition calendar. From the sweep of the parkland to the character of the town itself, it’s a venue that invites bands, families, and supporters to settle in, enjoy nature, and enjoy a full day of music, movement, and celebration.
