Northern Ireland Bands and Drum Majors Recognised in UK Parliament for World Championship Successes
Bands and Drum Majors from our Northern Ireland Branch have received prestigious recognition in the UK Parliament for their outstanding achievements at this year’s RSPBA World Pipe Band Championships held in Glasgow on 15 & 16 August.
An Early Day Motion was tabled on 1st September 2025 by Independent Member for North Down, Alex Easton MP. The motion not only celebrates the successes – it formally acknowledges the dedication, talent, and international success of local competitors who represented Northern Ireland with distinction on the World stage.
This recognition also highlights the remarkable standard of music, performance, and leadership within Northern Ireland’s pipe band community, as well as the cultural importance of the Northern Ireland Branch’s contribution to Ulster-Scots tradition.
It’s amazing to see the hard work of our Bands and Drum Majors recognised at the very highest level and we pass on our sincerest gratitude to Mr Easton for taking the time to table this in Westminster.
