The History of Ards with Paul Whitla

Sitting in the shadow of Scrabo Hill and the Londonderry Monument,  Newtownards has witnessed some momentous moments in history.  From the 13th  century Norman Invasion to the settlement of the Scots in 1605 hear how these historic events played a fundamental role in the development of Newtownards as we know it today.

These tours will offer a flavour of the story of Newtownards giving the audience a unique insight into our fascinating local history.

Taking in The Priory, Market Cross and the old Town Hall (Ards Arts Centre), this event requires standing and walking outside and so unfortunately it may not be suitable for everyone.

Tour lasts approx  1 hour.
