The NI Branch can now confirm and update our calendar of events for the 2024 outdoor season as follows:
- 29th June confirmed as Antrim in association with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
- 10th August will see a return to Donard Park, Newcastle in association with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
- The event planned for June 15th will not be possible due to absence of funding, which is disappointing.
- Following on from the difficult news from Ballymena last week, we have had very positive discussions and are close to securing a deal for the Ulster Championships within another Council area for Saturday 3rd August. We are extremely confident and positive this will happen and more details will follow next week.
Branch Chairman, Alastair Patterson said, “This past couple of months have been extremely challenging due to funding constraints and have pushed us to the point that new strategies and thinking will be required moving into the future to enable us to fund and run our events. As we all know in life there is nothing for free anymore and we have to seriously consider this moving forward.”
The NI Branch and Sections are working extremely hard to make all events happen for our membership and thankfully through the immense efforts of the team and a lot of financial support from the NI Branch and Sections, we now have lots to look forward to including the UK Championships in Ward Park, Bangor on the 18th May.
There will be further updates over the next few days and weeks so please keep an eye on our website and social media for these plus entries are opening for our events at Enniskillen and Cookstown.
Also, a reminder to our members there is a Branch meeting via zoom on Wednesday 24th April where we will update our membership further.
