I attended the Belfast Peace Proms on Sunday 28th February at the SSE Arena and what a truly brilliant show it was, exciting, entertaining, humorous and just a real treat all round.  The Arena was full and what an opportunity the Peace Proms gives for young people to perform in premier venues such as the SSE Arena,  where on Monday and Tuesday night Adele takes the stage to start her European tour

Grahame Harris, the pipe band members from Colmcille and the Ulster Scots Agency Juvenile Band added a real energy and vitality to the music of the brilliant youth orchestra and it was really special when the musicians played Highland Cathedral and the Atholl Highlanders, joined by Michelle Johnson and highland dancers from her school.   A member of the audience told me that they never would have thought that pipers and drummers could play with an orchestra, but now that they had seen it, they were converted.

All involved should be very proud of their involvement.  Well done to all.
