The Ulster Championships for 2015 are over for another year. With an excellent scenic venue of Kilbroney Park Rostrevor and some great support from Newry Mourne and Down District Council we finished with a very successful event on many fronts. Our grateful thanks to the team from Council and Parks, who did all they could to ensure the event was a great success. To the New Zealand Police for their attendance, which enhanced the event greatly, and we are grateful to Emmett Conway for bringing the band over to compete. The Council had agreed to nominate local man Eddie Mullen of Annsborough Pipe Band to act as Chieftain, a role he was delighted to accept. The warmth of his reception at the finale was clear to be seen and i am sure it is a day he will never forget. Well done Eddie! The Council Vice Chair Gillian Fitzpatrick spoke to the gathering before handing over the awards.
Over all with some intense work over the last few weeks it was i think a success story with good planning and managed on the day. We move on to the final local event at Portrush.
