This year we are having a Xmas Recital Night to be held in Dromore Rugby Club on Saturday 28th December 2013. Our guest recitalist is Andrew Carlisle who hails from Ballygowan, Co. Down. Andrew is currently the Professor of Bagpipe Music in Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA.
As a society we are looking forward to hearing him play as it has been some time (4 years) since he has performed in Northern Ireland due to him living and working in The States. He is one of the most accomplished players to come from our shores having won many global solo competitions and accolades and of course many pipe band titles with the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band. It will be a great night and one not to be missed. Supporting Andrew is Bernagh Folk Group of which he is also a member. So, a busy night of world class solo piping and traditional folk music.
