The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association (Northern Ireland Branch), unveiled their new competition control vehicle at the recent Borough of Ards Pipe Band Championships held in Londonderry Park, Newtownards at the weekend.
The new vehicle, which was part funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, will be used as the public address vehicle at the organisations summer events held throughout Northern Ireland.
Ray Hall, RSPBANI Chairman said, “The Association are delighted with the support of Arts Council of Northern Ireland. We now have a reliable, comfortable and safe PA Vehicle to assist us in our event delivery. It really will be a huge asset to us for years to come.”
He went on to say, “as part of the new initiative, we have included the organisations recognisable logos as well as celebrating the Simply World Class success of Northern Ireland’s pipers, drummers and drum majors. This is something we as a Branch are extremely proud of and want to share in.”
Maria McAlister, Traditional Arts Development Officer at the Arts Council, said, “RSPBANI plays a central role in the development of piping and drumming in Northern Ireland and we are keen to support them where we can to enhance the range of services they offer to their members and to the many thousands of participants and dedicated audiences who engage in this art form. The new PA and Transit van should help them to do just that.”
