After a year out, the Quinn Memorial Pipe Band is hoping to make a return to the competition season later this year.
The band got together just after Christmas with a view to competing in the second half of the season. They are currently practising hard and hope to be ready to compete at the UK Championships in Belfast on the 14th June.
The band has already started taking bookings for the World Pipe Band Championships in August. They are travelling out on Friday 15 August and returning on Sunday 17 August. The band will be staying in the Glynhill Hotel in Renfrew as previous years.
Behind every successful band is a team of dedicated fundraisers & the Quinn Memorial has certainly got one of the best teams around. The first fundraiser is already in hand.
The Quinn Memorial Daffodil Tea, a well established event in the local social calendar, will be held in Killygullib Orange Hall on Thursday 3rd April at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome. There will be the usual well stocked cake stall and supper will be provided.
QThe band would like to thank everyone for their continued support and well wishes over the past months and would welcome any new pipers and drummers who wish to join their ranks. If you want to join either contact any band member or come along to the tea evening and speak to the members there.
