Dear Editor,
Major Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band, would like to thank the people of Ballyclare and the Ballyclare Office of the Democratic Unionist Party for their support. We had a spectacular evening of Piping, Drumming, Irish and Scottish dancing and the first outing for our new traditional music group called DR-one Direction at our Wee Gatherin’ Concert, in the town hall.

We were greatly received by the audience, the reception we got let us know that we were playing all the tunes they love to hear. One of the many highlights of the evening was Rev McCrea taking to the stage and treating us to a few tunes, where he was joined by our compare Billy McFarland from the vibrant days of the show-bands. Together they made a formidable team.

One lady had travelled from Larne to see us and said “ It was wonderful to see the Band tonight, I have followed you on and off for years. and you just get better and better. I really enjoyed the Abba group stuff. Great to see so many young ones too”.

We met with many old friends on the night and made many new ones. You can become a friend of the band too by following us on Facebook.

If you didn’t manage to catch the concert you can view many clips on our Facebook page.

We are putting together an oral and photographic history of The Band, anyone with any memories should contact Kim on 02894 432412.
