The curtain came down in style on the Branch champion of champions season of contests at Ramore Head Portrush with the annual invasion of the pipe band world to the north coast town. From early morning the bands and drum majors arrived to an arena set up for what was a very successful end to the season. Many thousands of spectators and visitors enjoyed both the competition side of the event but also the magnificent street parade which has become very popular.

The Chieftan was the Mayor of Coleraine Councillor George Duddy who praised the efforts of all concerned in what was one of the highlights of the holiday season. Mr Fred Walker suitably replied and presented gifts to our world champion band and Drum Majors.

The end of another season well not quite we are returning to Co Antrim Section for a re run of their cancelled event this will be held at Glenarm Castle on the 6th September.

Two new trophies were presented by Shiela Butcher in memory of Jeff Butcher and by Philip Tasker in memory of Mr McDowell. Both were gratefully recieved.
