Dungannon Rugby Club is to be the venue of the International Piping in the Park competition hosted by Grade 2, Aughintober Pipe Band after the Ulster Championships in Dungannon Park on Saturday 4 August.
This competition was such a success last year that the Co.Tyrone band decided to run it again but moving the venue to a warmer location in Dungannon Rugby Club.
This unique competition will see 5 solo pipers from all around the world represent their country in a way like no other to take home the title of International Piping in the Park Champion 2012.
Last year the overall winner went to Gordon McCready from Scotland with Donald MacPhee from USA winning the best entertainment award.
The line up this year includes-
* Scotland – Kyle Warren (FMM)
* N.Ireland – Scott Wallace (FMM)
* Canada – Mike Fitzhenry (FMM)
* Ireland – Kevin Rogers (SLOT)
* Australia – Ian Lyons (FMM)
The format of the evening is that each player will have a maximum of 20 minutes on stage. Thy must submit an MSR and after that the stage belongs to themselves as entertainment is the main focus.
The players will be judged on playing and entertainment value.
The event will start at 7.30pm on Saturday 4th August in Dungannon Rugby Club.
