With the final competition of the season on Saturday it’s time for an update on the current standing in the NI Branch Champion of Champions competition. You can look at the current tables here. A reminder that if the points totals are tied the winner is determined by the highest number of first places and if still tied by the result at the Ulster Championships. With that in mind the current list of Bands and Drum Majors still in contention are as follows:

Bands
Grade 1: Cullybackey
Grade 2: Bleary & District
Grade 3A: Closkelt (Annsborough not attending Portrush means that Closkelt can not be caught.)
Grade 3B: Upper Crossgare (A Colmcille win on Saturday would put them level on points and first places but Upper Crossgare’s win at the Ulster would see them take the title anyway.)
Grade 4A: Marlacoo & District
Grade 4B: Portavogie

Drum Corps
Grade 1: Cullybackey
Grade 2: Bleary & District and PSNI (PSNI need to win to take the title, any other result and Bleary & District have it.)
Grade 3A: Ballybriest
Grade 3B: Upper Crossgare
Grade 4A: Marlacoo & District
Grade 4B: Portavogie (A McDonald Memorial win would tie the points and the number of first places but Portavogie’s result at the Ulster would see them through.)

Drum Majors
Adult: Lauren Hanna
Juvenile: Lauren Abraham and Zoe McDowell (Zoe needs to win at Portrush, any other result and Lauren takes the prize.)
Junior: Lana Gibson
Novice: Kathy Hunter and Abigail Wenlock (Abigail, like Zoe in the Juvenile grade, needs to win otherwise Kathy takes the title.)
