After the incessant rain during the Friday Grade 1 qualifiers, thankfully the weather held up well for the big day itself. In what must be one of the longest days ever at the World Pipe Band Championships the wait proved worthwhile for the prize winners.
Congratulations to Field Marshal Montgomery on securing their 11th World title. This is a phenomenal achievement given the ever increasing standard of all the top level bands. Congratulations also to Paula Braiden on adding to her World Championship medal collection in the Adult Drum Majors grade. Congratulations also to Jamie Cupples on winning the Junior Drum Major grade. Congratulations to all who took part, made finals or won prizes. You did the Northern Ireland Branch proud with your efforts.
