SUMMARY:UK Solo Drumming Championships 2026
DESCRIPTION:RSPBA United Kingdom Solo Snare Drumming Championships 2026\nThe RPSBA United Kingdom Solo Drumming hosted by The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch will take place on Friday 17th April in Cookstown High School. Start time will be 5pm. \nIn addition to the Adult Grade\, where competitors play for the Bobby Rea cup and one of six coveted semi-final spots in the World Solo Drumming Championships later in the year\, there will be five Juvenile section grades – in line with the grades at the World Solo Drumming. \nEvent Info \nEvent times \n\nDoors open: 4:15pm.\nFirst competitor performances: 5:00pm.\n\n\nCompetitor Registration: \n\nOn arrival\, please proceed to Boys’ Gym.\nThrough the main doors of Coolnafranky Building and turn right. \n\n\nAdmission for spectators: \n\n£5.00 for all non-competitors.\nCash\, card and contactless accepted.\nCompetitors and their accompanying pipers do not need to pay admission.\n\n\nParking \n\nPlease park considerately within the school grounds.\nAny cars parked inappropriately will be asked to move.\n\n\nFood & Drink \n\nThere will be no catering available on-site at this event.\n\n\nUnacceptable Behaviour \n\nPlease demonstrate respect at all times.\nThis event is made possible with the help of our volunteers who are on duty to help and assist you.\nThere is a zero-tolerance approach to any abuse of our volunteers and event officials.\n\nDraw \nUK Solo Drumming Draw is available here.\nClick on the document to view the controls. \nRSPBANI-UK-Solos-2026-Draw\nResults \nResults will be published after the solos on the main 2026 results page. \nPlaying Requirements \n\n\n\n\nJUVENILE\nSECTION\nCRITERIA\nPLAYING REQUIREMENTS\n\n\n1\nAged under 14 years on the 1st November 2025 and registered with a Band Graded; Novice Juvenile or Grade 4.\n8 Parts of Quick March tempo in 2/4 time signature\, tunes from the RSPBA Approved List\n\n\n2\nAged 14 years and over and under 18 years on the 1st November 2025 and registered with a Band Graded; Novice Juvenile or Grade 4.\n8 Parts of Quick March tempo in 2/4 time signature\, tunes from the RSPBA Approved List\n\n\n3\nAged under 14 years on the 1st November 2025 and registered with a Band Graded; Novice Juvenile\, Grade 4\, Juvenile\, Grade 3\, Grade 2 or Grade 1.\nMarch\, Strathspey and Reel\, to be played without stopping in between tunes. Minimum of FOUR parts each tune.\n\n\n4\nAged 14 years and over and under 16 years on the 1st November 2025 and registered with a Band Graded; Novice Juvenile\, Grade 4\, Juvenile\, Grade 3\, Grade 2 or Grade 1.\nMarch\, Strathspey and Reel\, to be played without stopping in between tunes. Minimum of FOUR parts each tune.\n\n\n5\nAged 16 years and over and under 18 years on the 1st November 2025 and registered with a Band Graded; Novice Juvenile\, Grade 4\, Juvenile\, Grade 3\, Grade 2 or Grade 1.\nMarch\, Strathspey and Reel\, to be played without stopping in between tunes. Minimum of FOUR parts each tune.\n\n\nAdult \nSnare\nOpen to those Aged 18 years or over on the 1st November and registered with a Band Graded; Grade 4\, Grade 3\, Grade 2 or Grade 1\nMarch\, Strathspey and Reel\, to be played without stopping in between tunes.  Minimum of FOUR parts each tune.\nTwo MSRs to be submitted and will be drawn on the line.\n\n\n\n\nFor further details on playing requirements click here. \nRules \n\n\n\n\n\nContest run under RSPBA rules.\nAll competitors must be registered members of an RSPBA Pipe Band or Overseas Pipe Band Association that is affiliated to the RSPBA.\nAll competitors must wear band uniform.\nContests to be adjudicated by RSPBA approved drumming adjudicators.\nSIX places for the World Solo Drumming Semi-Final event will be awarded at this qualifying event\nThe highest placed players who have not already pre-qualified for the 2026 Adult World Solo Drumming Championship shall be granted a semi-final place.\nEntry fee for this event is £10 (Adult grade) and £5 (Juvenile grades)\, which is non-refundable.\nClosing Date – Wednesday 25th March 2026\nNo late entries will be accepted.\nFurther entry fee payable for World Solo Drumming Event 2026.\nDraw will be published on RSPBANI branch website\nEntries via RSPBANI branch website (below)\nResults available here after the event has completed
