Lurgan Park will be in the swing.

The County Down Section  promotion in Lurgan Park on the 21st June will have an added dimension with the inclusion of three traditional music groups on stage during the afternoon. Scheduled to start at 1pm appearing first will be Violeen followed by The Upducky Band and finishing of the sessions will be Blackthorn. All these musicians have attained great success during their musical journey and we welcome them all to Lurgan Park.

So during the afternoon come along to the music stage area beside the Lurgan Park monument to hear some toe taping music. The compere will be our own Mark Wilson Champion drummer and broadcaster.

This promises to be a fabulous day of music for all.

We also have a children's play zone supplied by Craigavon Borough Council.

The first contest to be held in Lurgan Park was staged yesterday with a rather dissapointing day of rain and at times strong winds. The event went well and Craigavons Mayor Mark Baxter praised the efforts of all who attended on the day. There were a number of withdrawals and this did not help the flow of the whole day.

A beautiful new trophy was handed over by Mrs Betty Anderson in memory of her late husband Bobby this was gratefully recieved.

The results are attached
